Hi Josh,
If you are looking to just focus on embroidery we would recommend the PE900. Our customers find that they quickly out grow the 4" x 4" hoop size of the Brother Skitch and the Brother SE700. In addition, the Skitch will only run on phones and tablets which can be limiting for some. https://www.swingdesign.com/products/...
In regards to the warranty, you would received the same warranty on a referb as you do with a new Brother machine.
